The world’s biggest coronavirus lockdown has been extended more than once -- leaving more than a billion people in India on the edge of survival amid fears of mass starvation, GFA World reported last month.
On April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the strict nationwide lockdown until May 3, essentially placing India’s 1.3 billion people -- one out of every six people in the world -- under stay-at-home orders. On May 1, it was reported that it would be extended yet another two weeks. The latest order means the entire nation -- soon to overtake China as the world’s most populous -- faces at least an eight-week shutdown.…
