Prayer is one of the fundamental practices of the Christian faith. It is through prayer that we meet with God and draw closer to him. It is also the means that God has given us to petition Him for our provision. John Wesley has said that God does nothing except in answer to believing prayer. Here at Gospel for Asia, we understand/believe that the work of the Lord can go forward only through prayer.
Because of the importance and the effect of prayer, Gospel for Asia staff meets together three mornings a week for prayer, both for the work in Asia, and also for the work here. In addition to these morning times of prayer, we also meet for prayer every Tuesday evening as well as praying until midnight on the first Friday night of each month. Through these times of prayer, we have been encouraged many times when we have seen the answers to specific prayers.
These evenings of prayer have a family atmosphere as the children of all the staff join in. During the Friday evenings, birthdays of the children and staff are celebrated as well. Altogether we have an evening enjoying one another and meeting with God.
