School of Discipleship Camping Trip – 2015
On Friday July 24, School of Discipleship students took a break from studies and enjoyed a holiday on the shores of Lake Erie. They and some of the staff from Gospel for Asia spent the weekend in Port Burwell Provincial Park. As soon as Friday’s work was completed they made the couple hour trip to the campground.
The first night was fairly low key with a late supper followed by a campfire which went into the late evening. After a night’s rest, everyone was ready to take on the day. A short game of volleyball was played and then it was off to the beach for a dip.
At the lake students and staff had a great time both in the water and on the beach. Most of the group went immediately into the water, while others began a game of catch and built some sandcastles. Once interest in the lake began to wane they enjoyed a game of Beach Volleyball until it was time to head back for lunch. In the afternoon a game of prisoners’ base was organised. After an enjoyable time in the sun playing this, everyone was ready to head back to the lake to cool off.
That evening there was a time of singing and sharing of what God had been teaching different ones recently. This was continued Sunday morning with a little more structure. All the students and some of the staff were able to share during these times. After this time of sharing was completed it was time to pack up, have lunch and head back to the office.
