School of Discipleship Camping Trip
Sleeping on the ground, itchy mosquito bites, and smoke burning in your eyes – there’s nothing like camping! The School of Discipleship students and some GFA staff members recently went out for a weekend camping trip.
Everyone had prepared short devotionals to share with the group. It was both interesting and inspiring to hear how God finds ways to show each person different things, while ultimately bringing it all together through our fellowship with one another for His glory.
The trip was both relaxing and refreshing, with games, canoeing, swimming, sand castles, fishing, and, of course, a campfire with s’mores.
After a warm and sunny Saturday, the skies opened up on Sunday morning and the rain poured down. It was a new experience to sing hymns in the pouring rain! Everything managed to get packed back up into the vehicles in an orderly, if wet, fashion – including all the people. The weather was sunny back in Stoney Creek, and so the camping spirit continued on with an outdoor lunch in the backyard of the GFA office. All in all, it was a weekend of fun-filled fellowship.
